'Real Housewives Of Orange County' Alum Meghan King Edmonds Spills All Amid Divorce
They say there are three sides to every story: Yours, theirs, and the truth. When it comes to Meghan King Edmonds and her husband Jim Edmonds, the public has heard his side of the story, and now, it's time to hear Meghan's.
The former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star was blindsided by the news that Jim filed to end their marriage on Oct. 25 (the day after their fifth wedding anniversary). In the nearly two weeks since, Meghan hasn't said much while her estranged husband has seemed to throw shade and talk negatively about her, until now. She broke her silence on Monday and revealed her side of the story in an interview with Us Magazine.
"I have to say that when he gave the 'nice' interview a few days ago, he was completely speaking for me. At that time I had not exchanged one text message with him and I have still not spoken to him on the phone," Meghan told the outlet.
"I have endured prolific controlling by Jim and it isn’t slowing down," she continued. "Even when I make an unassuming post on Instagram, he hurls insults at me for a battery of made-up indiscretions. I’m sick of the abuse and I won’t engage anymore — and I don’t have to."
Despite the allegations of cheating on the former MLB player's part, Meghan had hopes that the two would move past the lapse in judgment, but that turned out not to be the case.
"I wanted to work things out really badly. I had ignored his bad behavior and swept it under the rug for so long but after he sexted, it became impossible for me to continue to do so," she spilled. "Instead of taking accountability, becoming transparent and making sacrifices to heal the hurt he caused me, he went the exact opposite and instead became a victim."
Meghan and Jim married on Oct. 24, 2014, and have three children together -- Aspen, 2, and 16-month-old twins Hayes and Hart. The couple appeared on "RHOC" when Meghan was part of the main cast for Seasons 10-12.
As for what the future looks like, the 35-year-old reality star said that although the couple did obtain a prenup it does not "pertain to child support or custody."
At the moment, it seems fairly obvious that these two aren't having the most amicable split but, hopefully, for their children, they will figure it out in the least dramatic way possible.
