‘Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Season 12 Casting Rumors: Why Meghan King Edmonds Decided To Leave The Show

“Real Housewives of Orange County” is among one of the most popular shows in the Bravo franchise thanks to it’s dynamic cast and constant drama. Meghan King Edmonds, who was introduced to the show in Season 10, has been known to stir things up, but it looks like she’s taking a step back in Season 12.

After welcoming her first child with husband Jim Edmonds, Meghan has reportedly decided not to return to “RHOC.” Numerous sources confirmed Meghan’s exit from the franchise to Us Weekly. Although she had yet to speak out about her rumored departure, it seems likely that she’s taking time to focus on her daughter Aspen, rather than the drama between her and her “RHOC” co-stars.

On Jan. 19, Meghan announced that in addition to focusing on motherhood she would be getting back to work. She has joined Celebrity Baby Trends as a staff writer. She’ll be providing readers with weekly reviews of various baby products for all to enjoy. In a post on Instagram, she shared her excitement about the new venture, revealing that being a mother and step-mother had given her great joy, but she had been looking forward to getting back to work for quite some time.

Meghan’s alleged departure should not come as too much of a surprise to dedicated “RHOC” fans. By Season 11, Meghan had garnered a reputation among viewers and her co-stars as a pot stirrer. She kicked off her tenure on “RHOC” by feuding with Shannon Beador. She went on to launch a full fledged investigation into Vicki Gunvalson’s then-boyfriend Brooks Ayers’ cancer claims. In Season 11, many tuned in to “RHOC” hoping to see that same fire in Meghan and were disappointed by her laid back attitude.

Rather than get into it with her co-stars, Meghan introduced the group to Kelly Dodd, who has filled her shoes as the cast trouble maker, and focused on getting pregnant. Meghan remained a bystander as Kelly attacked her co-stars and felt their wrath right back. Meghan did not come to her defense, but regularly pointed out her wrongdoings.

Season 12 of “Real Housewives of Orange County” has not yet received a premiere date. Bravo has yet to make any official casting decisions, though it is believed everyone but Meghan — including Kelly — is returning.
