'Real Housewives Of Orange County' Star Emily Simpson Reveals Most Hurtful Thing Said About Her Marriage
Emily Simpson has received a lot of flack from fans about her marriage since joining "The Real Housewives of Orange County" cast. After over a year of criticism, she admitted that although she's over trying to defend her husband, Shane, the comments still sting.
"I don’t even explain anymore. It’s not even worth my time," Emily, 43, said on the Real Girl Talk podcast.
"The comments that bother me the most, I think, are the ones that tell me to leave my husband," she shared. "You can say, 'He’s a jerk, I don’t like him on the show.' That’s fine, that's an opinion. Based upon the small clips they show, like, I get it. He doesn’t come off the best. But we have small children together and he is a very very good dad."
“You’re talking about an 11-year marriage with three children and two step-daughters," she continued. "There’s a lot more to Shane than the 10-second [clips].”

Despite all the negativity, the attorney revealed last month that appearing on the Bravo show has improved her marriage, which she admitted wasn't in the best place during Season 14 filming.
"... this year, it was just much more personal because it's such a bird's-eye view into our life and marriage, and sometimes, you just don't wanna relive that," she explained in an interview with TooFab, later adding, "I would say things are definitely on the up-swing now."
"I think sometimes, maybe the best therapy is actually watching yourself back because I really feel like maybe Shane was not self-aware," the mother-of-three said. "I don't think he grasped how dismissive or cold he could be until he was forced to watch himself. He's really put effort into being completely different, and I have to give him credit for that. Definitely."
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" Season 14 airs Tuesdays on Bravo at 9 p.m. EDT.
