Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi allegedly have a bizarre marriage.

DeGeneres and de Rossi have been married for over 11 years already. However, according to In Touch, the couple has embraced unusual practices to keep their relationship going.

Among the thing they do to keep their marriage intact are reportedly “vows of silence and strict rules which include using hands instead of utensils and avoiding dining with others in social situations.” The source also claimed that they are hiding in their “own isolated world.”

“Ellen is known to cut off long-time friends and not talk to them for years,” the source said. “She’s turning into Howard Hughes, hiding away in her own little isolated world. Ellen and Portia are multimillionaires living in a bubble. They’re out of touch and becoming more and more eccentric.”

However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because DeGeneres’ close friends are still with her. Last December, for her special “Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways,” the host invited her famous friends including Michelle Obama, Justin Timberlake, Robert Downey Jr, Melissa McCarthy, Chrissy Teigen and Jennifer Aniston.

Also, DeGeneres and de Rossi’s marriage has been plagued with various rumors in the past years. There were claims that they wanted to have a child and they were divorcing. There were also speculations that DeGeneres would be quitting from her show because her wife told her to do so. All of those claims were not true and de Rossi only laughed when she was asked about it.

“I thought, ‘Wow, this is great that I’m pregnant, not pregnant, divorced, not divorced, whatever. That means there is an acceptance for this,” de Rossi said.

Meanwhile, when DeGeneres accepted her 2020 Golden Globes Carol Burnett Lifetime Achievement Award, she surprised many when she thanked her husband Mark and kids Rupert and Fiona. Several were wondering who Mark was in her life. It turned out that the comedian was only joking and was actually referring to her wife de Rossi.

“Obviously, you all know me or you wouldn’t have laughed at that,” DeGeneres said.
