Reese Witherspoon is back with another TikTok video. As the viral app’s popularity rises, more and more people are logging on to try their hand at today’s trendiest dances and video-making skills, and Witherspoon appears to be one of them.

“The Morning Show” star’s latest video is a tutorial from her 16-year-old son, Deacon, on the concept of “dapping” someone up. The phrase refers to the popular handshake-style greeting when people slap hands and then slowly pull their fingers away.

“Do we make a noise or anything?” Witherspoon asked at the beginning of the video before laughing as her son replied embarrassed, “No you don’t make a noise. That’s weird.”

The 43-year-old actress has two other children in addition to Deacon. He and older sister Ava, 20, are from her first marriage to ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Her youngest child, 7-year-old Tennessee, is from her current marriage to husband Jim Toth.

It’s not the first time Witherspoon has employed her son to up her cool factor. She posted an Instagram video in September 2019 of Deacon teaching her the ins and outs of TikTok. Her first TikTok video, put over the song, “Mr. Sandman” by The Chordettes was then created as a result.

In terms of followers, her TikTok fame is relatively small compared to some of the popular teenagers on the app. She has 1.2 million followers compared to teen TikTok stars who have upwards of 28 million. Her most popular TikTok was a video capturing her surprise at being gifted an Ivy Park x Adidas orange box from Beyoncé. The video received 2 million likes.

Witherspoon has only posted seven videos so far, but the combination of her rising status on the app and teenage son might provoke her to continue making more.
