Reese Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe is getting candid about her sexuality.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's 22-year-old daughter revealed during an "Ask Me Anything" on her Instagram Story Monday that she isn't into labels when it comes to her dating preferences after a fan asked her, "Do [you] like boys or girls?"
"I'm attracted to… people! (Gender is whatever)," Ava wrote across a selfie in which she sports pink hair and blue eyeshadow, according to People.
Ava has been dating fellow UC Berkeley student Owen Mahoney for two years. She made their relationship Instagram official in 2019 and has since occasionally shared photos of them on social media.
In June last year, Ava shared on Instagram a photo with Mahoney at Austin Bat Bridge in Texas. In the picture, she rocked a red polka dot dress and was all smiles as she posed with her boyfriend, who wore a light blue polo shirt.
"The bats were feeling shy…so here’s a pic of us instead," she wrote in the caption.
Her mom quickly responded to the post, writing, "These two," along with a heart-eyes emoji.
When it comes to her social media posts, Ava said she always tries to be "conscious of what I am posting" and does her best to "put good out there."
"It feels like a human experience and it feels right. That gut feeling of, someone might need to hear this. It makes me feel good, in more ways than one, to be able to share and be real with people on social media as much as is possible," she told E! News last month. "We do see a lot of the falsified sides [of people] or the facades, and it's just not completely true of everyone, and I think a little truth is good sometimes."
Meanwhile, Witherspoon, who also shares son Deacon, 18, with ex-husband Phillippe, opened up about her kids during an interview with InStyle in November last year.
"It's an odd situation because I didn't grow up famous. So [Ava is] living an experience that I did not have, and so are my sons," she said. "We are lucky enough to have friends who grew up in Hollywood and can help give them advice on how to navigate."
Witherspoon continued, "Ava is so down-to-earth. She wants to do great things in the world. She's studying and learning and trying to find herself. It's a big thing in life to try different things and figure out what is really your path."
The "Morning Show" star also shares 9-year-old son Tennessee James with husband Jim Toth, 51, whom she married in 2011.
