Remy Ma Shades Nicki Minaj During Vacation With Papoose: ‘Comfortable In My Own Skin’
Remy Ma may be vacationing with Papoose and their kids this week, but she’s not done throwing shade at her archenemy, Nicki Minaj. The “All The Way Up” hitmaker just took to social media to give a subtle diss at Queen Barbz.
While enjoying some quality time with her family this weekend, Remy Ma grabbed the chance to update her Instagram by posting a photo of herself in a Care Bears-printed one-piece swimsuit and a pink cap. In the caption, Remy Ma admitted to her fans that she’s actually a Care Bear underneath her tough exterior. What’s striking in her post are the hashtags “#ComfortableInMyOwnSkin” and “IDoItForTheRealOnes,” which some people took as a jab at Minaj.
“She’s suggesting that she’s natural unlike Nicki who is all fake,” one fan commented. “Looks so natural here even the hair. You are the best model for us women,” another fan wrote. Meanwhile, others claimed that Remy Ma is actually copying Minaj. “It seems like Remy Ma trying to be like Nicki Minaj so bad that now she is dressing and posting pics like her,” one stated.
Papoose also shared some snaps on Instagram from their family getaway. In one photo, Remy Ma and Papoose’s teenage daughter Dejanae Mackie can be seen dipping in the clear water. In another pic, Papoose and Remy Ma cuddle while looking at the beach from a balcony.
While both are busy with their working engagements these days, the “Love & Hip Hop” stars still find time to enjoy each other’s company. Just a week ago, Remy Ma and Papoose attended the premiere of “The Fate of the Furious.” Prior to this, they also went on a date and watched the Broadway musical “Cats.”
Meanwhile, during Remy Ma’s guest appearance on “Hip Hop Squares,” the reality star-rapper couldn’t resist dissing Minaj when she was asked to complete the latter’s “Anaconda” verse: “Put his butt to seep _______.”
“You know what I’m kinda thinking that she was would have said something about her butt because that’s always like the every other two bars,” Remy Ma said. “I’m actually a big Nicki Minaj fan and I know all her lyrics. And her next line is ‘Now I’m eating some tacos.’”
It wasn’t clear if Remy Ma intentionally said the wrong lyrics, since Minaj’s actual lyrics are: “No, he’s calling me NyQuil.” However, fans noticed that the episode was recorded prior to the release of “shETHER,” and it was already obvious that even back then, Remy Ma was already targeting Onika.
