‘RHOA’ Spoilers: Kandi Burruss Teases ‘Stressful’ Marlo Hampton Feud After Veteran Cast Exits
The production of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 14 has begun, and Kandi Burruss is already feeling stressed amid her feud with Marlo Hampton and the exit of veteran cast members Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey.
During the Wednesday episode of Us Weekly’s “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast, Burruss admitted she has been struggling to deal with her heated feud with Hampton, which will be featured in the upcoming season.
“[This season] was stressful to me with a whole argument with Marlo,” Burruss explained. “We were saying things that were very below the belt at each other, we were throwing some really low blows.”
Burruss noted that she previously spoke up for Hampton to encourage Bravo to make her a main part of the cast. After years of being featured as a friend of a cast member, Marlo was promoted to a main cast member for “RHOA” Season 14.
“I was the main one saying that Marlo should get a peach. I kept telling everybody that, and so when she got her peach, I was excited for her. I was not expecting for me and her to bump heads. That was the last thing I was expecting,” Burruss said.
“If you can roll back to when she first came on the show in season four, she and I bumped heads then, so it was similar to that, but a little worse.”
In a different interview, Burruss admitted she was surprised by her fight with Hampton.
“It wasn’t like it was intentional. It wasn’t planned. One thing led to another, and it was just explosive. It went out of control,” Burruss said, reflecting on the altercation.
Aside from the drama with the current “RHOA” cast, Burruss also revealed she had some concerns about the new season after Williams and Bailey left the show.
“When we got ready to start the season, I was a little nervous because I’m like, ‘OK, we are losing two peaches that are very important to the franchise. How’s that gonna go?’” Burruss said.
However, Burruss was confident enough about the upcoming episodes to suggest the show may be better off without Williams and Bailey.
"But let me tell you, no diss to them, this season is going to be way better than the last few. I would say it’s a really, really good season, and I’m excited for people to watch," she said.
Bravo has yet to release the official premiere date of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 14.
