Kelly Dodd has decided to prioritize her daughter Jolie’s desire to see herself and her mom happy.

While speaking with People, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star revealed that her 11-year-old daughter is happy that she has parted ways with her estranged husband, Michael Dodd.

“I just realized my parents’ relationship wasn’t healthy, and mine isn’t either. My daughter isn’t happy with us – I mean, she’s happy that we’re divorcing. It’s better for her. She’s actually really happy,” she said.

Dodd announced her decision to move forward with their divorce proceedings last month. But she first filed for the motion five years ago. Despite their divorce, the reality TV star admitted that it hasn’t been easy.

“I feel bad, because Michael is one of my really good friends, and we have a family together. I’m sad – I’m sad I can’t call him all the time and be excited about something. I don’t have that – the friendship element of it, or someone who has my back. He always has my back, but he’s upset with me right now, of course. But he’ll get over it,” she said.

Dodd decided to push through with her decision because their marriage just wasn’t working. She told Entertainment Tonight, “I guess everyone has a final straw, I just, it was like… just disagreements all the time.”

Following their divorce, Dodd also decided to sell their house in Orange County for $5 million. “I built the house myself. The whole house was my design. I built it from scratch. I tore it down. It was super personal… I’m glad I got the money out of it and somebody else can enjoy it,” she said.

Weeks after their divorce, Dodd also seemed to love herself more. She recently underwent breast reduction surgery because her 32GG breasts caused a strain on her back. “I love them. They look great naked. They’re up and they’re perky. However, I wanted them a little bit smaller. I’ve always had big boobs since I was a kid. I wanted them a little bit smaller than they are now, but they look great naked,” she said.
