The circumstances surrounding the attack of former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Lauri Peterson's son, Josh Waring, are becoming a case of he-said, he-said.

The latest development of the brutal attack against Waring comes from TMZ. The outlet spoke with the former "RHOC" star's lawyer Joel Garson, who believes that the jail's account of what happened is a "cover you [expletive]" statement.

According to the October criminal report obtained by the news outlet, one correctional officer claimed Waring relieved the guards of any blame and said, "Oh, I know you guys didn't do that on purpose." Waring also allegedly told the officer that he did not want to press charges against his attacker. Garson told TMZ that Waring adamantly denies both of those statements.

Waring received 20 stitches as a result of the incident, which was caught on camera. He has been behind bars for three years for allegedly shooting a man at a sober living home.

"I was fighting for my life … I was screaming," he told Radar Online exclusively in a phone call as his voice cracked. "As he’s punching me, the blade sliced up my face and chest."

This wasn't the first attack against Waring since he's been incarcerated. His mother, Lauri, revealed that her son has claimed to be in danger the whole time he's been at the Orange County facility. Apparently, his life was threatened by guards, and he has suffered multiple attacks during his time there -- 3 at the hands of other inmates and 1 by a guard.

Waring has filed a federal lawsuit against Orange County and its Sheriff's Department.
