  • Lili Reinhart has revealed the truth about her sexuality
  • While promoting the LGBTQ+ for Black Lives Matter, Reinhart shared that she is "a proud bisexual"
  • The announcement came just weeks after her split with three-year partner Cole Sprouse

Lili Reinhart has officially revealed her sexuality.

On Wednesday (June 3), via her Instagram Stories, Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper in CW’s teen drama series “Riverdale,” came out as bisexual while showing her support for the LGBTQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter protest in West Hollywood, California.

"Although I've never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman," the 23-year-old actress wrote.

The announcement came with an LGBTQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter poster, which Reinhart used to help encourage her fans to participate with her in the movement.

Reinhart’s revelation comes weeks after her split with “Riverdale” co-star Cole Sprouse, whom the actress has been dating for three years. Neither of the two has publicly addressed the breakup since the news circulated.

But according to an E! News source close to both television stars, Reinhart and Sprouse’s split may not last long, emphasizing how the pair are expected to reconcile anytime soon.

"Lili and Cole were in a good place when ‘Riverdale’ was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak, but they isolated separately and distance has never been a good thing for their relationship," the source said. "When Cole and Lili are around each other often, things are very good. Their relationship is very intimate and affectionate, but things become much more complicated when they're apart."

E! News' other source added that they are “likely to reconcile once filming resumes.” For now, the stars are reportedly using the imposed quarantine and social distancing as a time to “chill and focus on themselves,” the insider claimed.

Meanwhile, Reinhart has been using her social media platform to get involved in the Black Lives Matter movement and also to express her stance on the murder of George Floyd.

The actress took to Twitter on Monday to share her thoughts on the now-global racial issue.

"I want to say that I am ashamed of the racism that exists in this country,” she tweeted. “We are taught to look at our police officers as helpful and friendly when we learn about 'leaders' in elementary school. Our 'leaders' have failed us today.”

Reinhart then went on to say that she can’t imagine the “horror of worrying” about being qualified for protection based on the color of one's skin.

“I know that white privilege exists and I [could] never fully understand what it's like to be oppressed because of my race,” she added.
