Roman Reigns has hailed Vince McMahon, saying the former Chairman and CEO of the WWE Company has been "great to my family."
Earlier this month, Vince stepped down from his duties over allegations of sexual misconduct. He was accused of paying over $12 million in the past 16 years to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and betrayal. An investigation into the claims is going on.
Reigns is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Brock Lesnar at the SummerSlam event Saturday. The Tribal Chief recently made an appearance on "The Today Show" to talk about his upcoming Last Man Standing fight against Lesnar, which is reportedly going to bring the curtains down on their iconic rivalry. The "Biggest Party of the Summer" will take place at Nissan Stadium, Nashville.
Reigns signed autographs and took pictures with fans at Rockefeller Plaza on Wednesday. At the time, YouTuber RainmakerNYC asked Reigns about his recently resigned boss.
"I wish him nothing but luck and happiness in his future. He's been great to me and my family," replied Reigns, according to WrestlingInc.
Vince took to Twitter to break the news about his resignation last week.
"At 77, time for me to retire. Thank you, WWE Universe. Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful," he had tweeted.
Following this, the company announced that Triple H will assume all responsibilities related to WWE's creative team, in addition to his regular duties. Meanwhile, Vince's daughter, Stephanie, and Nick Khan were appointed as the co-CEOs of the billion-dollar worth company.
It was earlier reported that WWE is set to enter a new era under the leadership of Stephanie and Nick. Paul Heyman, who is the current special counsel to Reigns, is expected to play a key role in it.
