‘Romance To The Rescue’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
Hallmark Channel’s lineup of new movies for Spring is coming to an official end, with the final premiere before a summer slate of films, “Romance to the Rescue.” The film, which stars Andrea Brooks and Marcus Rosner, debuts Saturday night.
The film will be a treat for fans as it reunited two stars from “A Harvest Wedding” and brings back some fan-favorite actors in general. Besides “Harvest Wedding,” Brooks has previously held roles in the films “The Sweetest Heart, ” “Jingle Around the Clock” and “In the Key of Love.” She is also likely best known by Hallmark fans for her role as Faith Carter on “When Calls the Heart.”
As for Rosner, fans likely also recognize him from roles outside “Harvest Wedding,” which include “The Birthday wish,” “Summer in the Vineyard,” “Christmas in Evergreen,” “Yes, I Do,” “Valentine in the Vineyard” and “Love on Harbor Island.”
Nathan Witte (“My Best Friend’s Bouquet”) and Benjamin Charles Watson (“Mingle All The Way”) also star.
So what can fans expect in this film? Let’s find out.
“Kyra (Brooks) is goal-oriented in all aspects of her life, from professional to personal. When she meets Trevor (Witte), the new manager at the grocery store where Kyra works, he seems to check off all the boxes when it comes to what she’s looking for in love,” a synopsis reads. “When her well-meaning co-worker and friend Mark (Watson) tells Trevor that Kyra has an agility trained dog, she plays along. But when Trevor tells her he can’t wait to see Kyra enter her dog in the upcoming agility contest the store is sponsoring, Kyra is faced with a canine quandary.”
Quickly Kyra moves to adopt an adorable pup named Sam, but she realizes she needs some help if she’s going to get him ready for the contest.
“Although he’s hesitant at first, Kyra convinces Kevin (Rosner), the head of the shelter, to put his training skills to use and help her get Sam competition-ready,” the synopsis continues. “As the two spend time together, not only does Sam begin to flourish at agility, but Kyra and Kevin start to fall for each other.”
However, as the truth comes out, Kyra may risk losing what she really wanted.
“But when Kevin learns why Kyra adopted Sam and needed to train him in a hurry, their budding romance hits a new obstacle that may throw them off course,” the synopsis concludes.
“Romance to the Rescue” airs Saturday, May 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
