Ryan Phillippe recently accused his ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, of extorting money from him.

In September, Hewitt filed a lawsuit against the “Cruel Intentions” star for allegedly abusing her. Days later, Phillippe denied Hewitt’s allegations via a lengthy post on Twitter.

The court documents obtained by E! News on Wednesday revealed that Phillippe has asked Hewitt to dismiss the case, but the actor did not file for a counter lawsuit against the supermodel. Reese Witherspoon’s ex-husband also called Hewitt’s accusations as “defamatory.”

Hewitt’s attorney, Keith A. Fink, issued a response to the actor and his lawyer and questioned why he didn’t file a complaint against the model. “If the claims were defamatory why didn’t Mr. Phillippe sue Elsie for defamation like he claimed her would? How is there not one shred of truth in her complaint?” he said.

Fink also stressed the fact that there was a witness that supports Hewitt’s accusations against the actor. “The pictures confirm her injuries. The text messages corroborate her story. If Mr. Phillippe is such a feminist why did his ex-girlfriend seek a restraining order? This pleasing is amateur hour but the defense doesn’t have anything to work with here,” he added.

Earlier this week, Phillippe also denied that he was in a relationship with Hewitt and said that he’s been single for over a year.

Meanwhile, Hewitt asked Phillippe for $1 million in damages after the actor allegedly assaulted her on July 4. In her filing, Hewitt’s attorney detailed the incident via a statement to People.

“Phillippe grabbed Hewitt’s upper arm so tightly that his grip left heavy bruises on her arm hours later. He then braced his body and violently threw her down his staircase as hard as he could. He kicked her, aggressively pushed her to the ground and later tossed her down the stairs a second time.”

Fink also stated that his client did not file a complaint for fame or money. Whatever money she will receive from Phillippe will go straight to charity.
