Sam Asghari Shares What First Attracted Him To Britney Spears
Sam Asghari says the first time he ever met Britney Spears, he was taken aback by her "humbleness."
The 28-year-old actor and fitness trainer first met the global pop icon in 2016 on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video, and it was her humility that pulled him closer to her, he revealed in a new GQ interview. "It was the humbleness that attracted me. She was very humble and she had a beautiful soul," he said.
Asghari and Spears, 40, have been linked together ever since they worked on the music video together.
The two decided to take their relationship to the next level when Asghari proposed to her in September. He said he sought help from his sisters and a friend while ring shopping because he didn't want anything that screamed "super big and super celebrity."
"I want it to represent something. I want it to come from my heart and I want it to go to someone that wasn't a big jeweler. It was a big company but it was a company that was willing to do it the way that I wanted it. So I designed a really beautiful ring. It's a princess cut, for a real-life princess," he explained.
In fact, he also wanted to seek permission from the singer's sons – Jayden, 15, and Sean, 16, but he did not since he hadn't told anyone he was going to ask her hand in marriage.
"I didn't want anybody to know and anybody to interfere in any way whatsoever so it was between me and her," he said.
And his plan worked as the "Gimme More" singer was blown away by the proposal, the actor shared. In an Instagram Story earlier this month, Asghari also revealed that "the big day has been set," though they were keeping it under wraps until they tie the knot, People reported.
Asghari also spoke about how the two of them manage their finances, given that he's dating a girl with an "expensive taste."
"I am careful with money because I do want to build a future for my children. If you came to this country, you came with a purpose. You don't come here to goof around," he explained.
