Fallen crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried, who is currently serving jail detention at The Bahamas Fox Hill Prison, has reportedly made a new bail application.
Bankman-Fried's first application for bail was denied in a Bahamas Magistrate Court on Dec. 13 due to the "risk of flight," as highlighted by Chief Magistrate JoyAnn Ferguson-Pratt.
Following the denial, Bankman-Fried once again applied for bail Thursday, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters. The new bail application was made before The Bahamas Supreme Court, the source noted, requesting anonymity.
After it was reported by the outlet, Unusual Whales, a retail tooling in crypto markets, tweeted that Bankman-Fried was trying for bail again.
Following the tweet, many users on the platform mocked the fallen crypto mogul.
One of them wrote, "SBF telling the Bahamas authority: 'I give you a second chance to release me.'"
Another person jokingly said that "the lack of video games" in the prison must be "taking a toll on him."
Another individual made a similar comment, noting that Bankman-Fried "must want to get back to his paused video game."
It was previously reported that the disgraced former CEO of FTX enjoyed a vacation in The Bahamas playing video games when users of the now-defunct crypto exchange lost their cryptos.
However, there were those who expressed concern for Bankman-Fried's health condition, given the squalid condition of the prison.
The Fox Hill Prison, located in Nassau, has been known for its harsh conditions. It is said to be overcrowded and infested with rats, maggots and insects.
Bankman-Fried has been in the prison's sickbay since Tuesday, after his first bail application was rejected.
However, The Bahamas Acting Commissioner of Corrections Doan Cleare told state television network ZNS that Bankman-Fried "isn't getting any special treatment" and that he is in "good spirits."
"It's a shock to any inmate to come from home and be confined into a dormitory-style or cell-style environment but I saw him, I spoke to him last night he seemed to be in good spirits," Cleare added.
Bankman-Fried is currently in the cell along with five other inmates.
In his first bail application, Bankman-Fried's lawyers advised the court that he is a vegan and has suffered from depression, insomnia and Attention Deficit Disorder for over a decade.
However, the details of the new bail application remain unknown.
