Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Specs Revealed In Benchmark Leak
Recently leaked benchmarks indicate the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is on its way. Specs for the upcoming rugged smartphone have surfaced on the Geekbench website, indicating the Galaxy S8 Active will be sold under the model number SM-G892A. The benchmark also details features including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, 4GB of RAM and the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
So far not much else is known about the Galaxy S8 Active, but Samsung’s Active line follows a pretty typical route to the market. Consumers can likely expect Galaxy S8 Active to be an AT&T exclusive (likely noted by the “A” in the SM-G892A model number).

Samsung will likely forgo some premium design features from the original Galaxy S8, such as its dual-edge display, all-glass exterior and possibly also its on-screen home button, in favor for a military-grade polycarbonate plastic casing. This will ensure that the Galaxy S8 Active is water, wind, dust, and scratch resistant and able to withstand a host of environmental factors, including altitude, temperature, rain, humidity, fungus, salt fog and sand and dust exposure.
The Galaxy S8 Active will likely also feature a much higher battery capacity than the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus and may include features specific to the device.
Samsung released the Galaxy S7 Active in early June of 2016; however, the late launch of the Galaxy S8 likely delayed the release of the Galaxy S8 Active. While release details for the Galaxy S8 Active are not yet known, leaked information about the device is a good indication that its launch is imminent.
