Samsung Galaxy Tab S Images Leak Prior To Unveiling
New devices in the Samsung Galaxy Tab line are expected to be unveiled Thursday evening at Samsung Galaxy Premiere 2014 in New York City, but images of the tablet appear to have been leaked before the event.
Leaks have surfaced from tech informant Evleaks as well as tech website SamMobile depicting all three models of the Galaxy Tab S, the 8.4-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.2-inch models. Images show that the tablets resemble the Samsung Galaxy S5, featuring perforated back panels. SamMobile's images also show protective flip covers for the tablet.
The new tablet by Samsung Electronics Co. (KRX:005930) is expected to introduce the WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixel) Super AMOLED display to the market. Other prospective specifications for the Galaxy Tab S tablet include the Samsung Exynos 5420 chipset (or a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset), an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Sensors and connectivity may include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, LTE and an IR blaster. The tablets should run Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s Magazine UX.
Evleaks last week shared a leaked document detailing preorder information for the Galaxy Tab S, which indicates that the tablet may be available for preorder at a select retailer starting June 13. However, the name of participating retailers is hidden on the document.
