Scarlett Johansson And Colin Jost Are Expecting Their First Child Together

Scarlett Johansson is expecting her first child with her husband Colin Jost. The news comes two months after rumors about the actress' pregnancy first emerged online.

"We're having a baby. It's exciting," Jost confirmed the happy news during his stand-up set in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Sunday, according to Us Weekly.

The actress sparked pregnancy rumors in June after being absent from "Black Widow" promotional events. Many also noticed that during virtual appearances, Johansson hid most of herself, shooting only from shoulders and up, like when she appeared on "The Tonight Show" on June 21.

Last month, the outlet published a story claiming the rumors to be true. "Scarlett is actually due soon. I know she and Colin are thrilled," it quoted a source as saying, adding that the actress has been quiet about it since she and Jost are a private couple, going by Hollywood's standards.

"Scarlett is pregnant but has been keeping it very quiet. She has been keeping a very low profile," the source reportedly said.

"She hasn't been doing many interviews or events to promote 'Black Widow,' which is surprising since it is a huge Marvel/Disney release and she is both the star and an executive producer," the source said further as per the outlet.

The 36-year-old actress already has a 6-year-old daughter, Rose Dauriac, whom she shares with her ex-husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac. The duo separated in January 2017 after two years of marriage.

In May of the same year, Johansson reportedly got close to Jost at a "Saturday Night Live" cast party. They eventually dated and a year later, the couple got engaged.

The actress later talked about Jost's proposal when she guested on "The Ellen Generes Show." "He killed it, he did, like, a whole James Bond situation," Johansson recalled. "He's got a lot behind that news desk. He's very charming and very thoughtful and romantic. I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment is going to be like, it's still a beautiful moment."

Johansson went on to say, "It was very special. I think more than anything when someone tells you they want to share the rest of their life with you, that is just is a lovely, special thing."

The couple then tied the knot in October 2020.

As for Jost's relation with Johansson's 6-year-old daughter, Us Weekly previously reported that he is "a great father figure for Rose, he loves playing with her and she is obsessed with him."
