Scott Disick experienced one of those foot-in-the-mouth moments when he tried to gossip about his ex Kourtney Kardashian with one of her exes, Younes Bendjima, which led to Amelia Hamlin dumping him. Now the newly single media personality and socialite wants to focus on his kids.

Fresh off the breakup, Disick has been spending quite a lot of time with his kids, Mason Disick, 11, Penelope Disick, 9, and Reign Disick, 6, a source who claims to be close to him told E! Online.

"It's the first time he's been single in a long time, and he is taking it all in stride," the source claimed, adding that Disick remains devoted to co-parenting with Kourtney.

Last month, another insider said Disick was "still having a really hard time processing" the Poosh founder's relationship with her boyfriend, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, that he would even "bring it up around Amelia and she would get very upset."

"Scott knows that Kourtney is in it for the long haul with Travis, which means Scott no longer has a chance with her," the source reportedly revealed. "It's a lot to digest and Scott still hasn't fully moved on."

It appears the whole incident involving Bendjima served as the last straw between Hamlin and Disick.

After their split, Hamlin shared a cryptic quote that seemingly described her feelings about the situation.

"Never settle for less. Not with your job, your friends, and especially not with your heart," the quote read. "Continue to seek what you are looking for and do not shrink yourself for the sake of other people. You deserve the best."

As for Disick, he seems to have learned his lesson. According to the first source, he is "really trying to put his feelings about Kourtney and Travis aside, and keep the peace with Kourtney."

"He wants to be a good dad and have a healthy relationship with his kids," the insider added. "That's his priority right now."

The source went on to say that the breakup shocked Disick as it was "sudden and unexpected." And now that he's a single man, he has been "slowly dating, but is not serious with anyone."

Rumors about Disick and Hamlin dating first emerged in October 2020 when they attended Kendall's Halloween-themed birthday party together. Months later, in February, the couple made their relationship Instagram official as they celebrated their first-ever Valentine's Day together.
