Sean And Catherine Lowe Discuss Post ‘Bachelor’ Success, Reveal Where They Want To Take Son Samuel
They still stand as the only couple from “The Bachelor” who are still together after becoming engaged during their season’s finale, and life after the series has been pretty good for Sean and Catherine Lowe.
The reality TV couple, who became engaged during Lowe’s season of the show and married in a televised ceremony in 2014, are not only still happily married, but are also parents these days to a son, Samuel. But while they may be the only original ‘Bachelor’ couple to still be together, they don’t like to compare their success to that of their fellow stars.

“I don’t think either one of us is very comfortable comparing our marriage to other people’s relationships,” Sean told International Business Times. “But I will say that Catherine and I, we made a point to commit to one another way back when we got engaged. No matter what, we were going to stay together, through good times and bad times, and of course we made those same vows as we got married. But I think the show brings a lot of challenges post-show with all the notoriety and attention that you get pulled in all these different directions. It can make a relationship very challenging, so unless you make your partner your top priority, there’s a good chance that it’s not going to work out.”
The couple’s success with their marriage is notable, especially since they welcomed their son, Samuel, together in July 2016. However, they also acknowledged that parenting can be a challenge at times, and while their lives in Dallas keep them busy, they also enjoy breaks away from the familiar. With that in mind, they partnered up with Chase Marriott Rewards Visa credit card, which is holding a sweepstakes throughout the month of June which allows cardholders the chance to win one of 1,000 free nights at a Marriott hotel. The two also love the card and the sweepstakes because they believe it’s a great way for fellow summer travelers to cut the budget on their own travel plans.
“I think a lot of people, in the planning stages, they kind of blow their budget on the hotels and the flights, and then once they get there, they don’t have so much money left over to do the things that they really want to do,” Sean said. “So in this case, I think that can really be a budget saver.”
Outside of the sweepstakes, the couple, who admit they love to travel, are just focusing on their business ventures and raising their son, whom they hope to one day bring to the locations that played an important role in their love story while they filmed the show—Alberta, Canada, where they had their first one-on-one date, and Thailand, where Sean proposed.

“Those locations are very special to us, just outside of that they’re probably two of the most beautiful places that I’ve ever visited in the world, so I think it would be fun to go back as a family,” Sean said. “Maybe in a few years when Samuel actually knows where he is and what not, but that would be great.”
As for if they would consider solo trips when given the chance? Though the concept seemed unlikely to them because they spend so much time together, they did each share where they’d go if given the opportunity to travel alone for one day.
“We are seriously inseparable,” Sean said. “If I were going by myself…I’m going to say Whistler, Canada. I hear it’s really beautiful up there, I’ve never been, and I think that would be a cool spot for me to explore for a day.”
“I’ll say Greece,” Catherine added when asked the same question. “I would just take in the sights, go to some really big historical landmarks, and just take in a crazy place that I’m sure is nothing like where I’ve been before.”
