The fight to contain the COVID-19 pandemic continues, and once again, solidarity among people is needed. Although they are not front liners, celebrities like Selena Gomez, Ryan Reynolds and Demi Lovato are helping out by supporting the first responders. Here’s how.

Gomez, announced on Tuesday, via Twitter that she will be donating to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, as her way of giving back gratitude. In her post, Gomez said that when she was there, the hospital staff took really good care of her, and now that they’re in need of assistance, she is extending the help.

The “Lose You To Love Me” singer had a kidney transplant procedure done in the same hospital, back in 2017, Music News reported.

On the same day, Lovato announced that she would pledge $5 for every Fabletics item sold in order to provide protective gears for the frontline workers. The donation will go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund of the World Health Organization, Billboard reported. It would reportedly include up to $125,000 from now until June 30.

On Lovato’s Instagram post, she revealed that she reflected on delaying the April 2 launch of the brand-new collection with Fabletics, an American online retailer co-founded by Hollywood celebrity Kate Hudson that sells footwear, accessories and sportswear.

This is Lovato’s way of spreading out positivity and boost each other amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She appealed to everyone to take this opportunity and join her in helping the community.

Meanwhile, Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, donated a sum of $400,000 to four New York hospitals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Fox News reported that a representative for Reynolds told the news outlet that YU Hospital, Mount Sinai, Northern Westchester and Elmhurst received $100,000 each.

On March 17, Reynolds revealed that he and his wife also donated a sum of $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada in support for those families greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the biggest problems the first responders are facing —in every hospital all over the globe— is the limited supply of Personal Protective Equipment. These are masks, goggles, face shields, gloves, disinfectants, etc. Many frontline workers risk their lives to save others, but they have limited access to the very equipment that could protect themselves. Not only that, testing for COVID-19 is still inadequate and every hospital is experiencing shortage from masks, ventilators and even hospital beds.

Everyone’s donation, big or small, counts.
