She insisted on keeping Kody away from her home during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic because her sons still had lives outside their house and she didn’t want to risk having Kody come to her and potentially get exposed to the virus and then bring it to other members of the family. However, as Kody questioned the decision during the recent episode of “Sister Wives,” Janelle Brown hit back at her husband on social media.

As the pandemic began to shape and change the family’s lives in Flagstaff, each wife expressed some different views about how to adjust their lives and households, with Janelle being the most vocal that she felt it was better for Kody to not come to her home, explaining that because her sons Gabriel and Garrison were both still outside the house—both socially and for work—while the rest of the family all had younger kids or generally empty homes where they were all together—she felt it wasn’t a good idea for Kody to come visit her and then go to other houses. Her fear was that if one of her sons came home with the virus and Kody came into contact with them, he would then risk bringing it to all of the other kids and wives.

However, Kody wasn’t thrilled with the idea and took to Twitter to seemingly blast his sons for their reaction to the news that their father wouldn’t come around and see them.

“Gabriel and Garrison both could have stopped their social lives for me to return home. They say ‘unfair,’ but never changed their behavior and @JanelleBrown117 didn’t insist on it.” he wrote.

Others were quick to point out that at least in the case of Garrison, he was leaving the home to work, which wasn’t fair to criticize, and Janelle also quickly took to Twitter to defend herself as well, pointing out that her kids are much older and she doesn’t have the same ability to punish them as the other wives would.

At the time, Janelle’s children who were at home were Garrison, who was 21 when the episode was filmed, Gabriel, who was 18 and Savanah, who was 15. By comparison, Christine still had Gwendlyn, who was 18, Ysabel, who was 16, and daughter Truely, who was 9. Meri temporarily had her daughter Mariah at home before she moved to Salt Lake City, and Robyn’s five children—Dayton, then 20, Aurora, then 17, Breanna, then 15, Solomon, then 8 and Ariella, then 4—were also home.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
