‘Sleepy Hollow’ Season 4 Spoilers: 8 Things To Know Before The Jan. 6 Premiere
“Sleepy Hollow” is back! The TV series returns after a long hiatus with Season 4 on Friday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox. But a lot has changed in Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Jenny’s (Lyndie Greenwood) lives since the death of Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).
In fact, it’s hard to keep track of all the changes Fox has made to the show. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up a handy list of everything you need to know before watching the Season 4 premiere of the rebooted “Sleepy Hollow”:
1. Episode 1 Synopsis
Crane and Jenny are struggling with their lives after Abbie’s death. While Jenny lost her sister, Crane lost his partner and fellow witness. Without her, it’s like he has no anchor in this modern world.
According to the synopsis of episode 1, Ichabod will find himself in the nation’s capital. When he realizes that there is more evil at play in Washington, D.C., the former Captain must forge unlikely partnerships and quickly find the next witness.
2. Episode Titles
Fox has released some of the episode titles of “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4:
- Episode 1 – “Columbia”
- Episode 2 – “In Plain Sight”
- Episode 3 – “Heads Of State”
- Episode 4 – “The People Vs. Ichabod Crane”
- Episode 5 – “Blood Form A Stone”
- Episode 6 – “Homecoming”
- Episode 7 – “Loco Parentis”
- Episode 8 – “Sick Burn”
- Episode 9 – “Child’s Play”
- Episode 10 – “Insatiable”
- Episode 11 – “The Way Of The Gun”
- Episode 12 – “Tomorrow”
3. New Faces, New Places
“Sleepy Hollow” executive producer Clifton Campbell told TVLine that Ichabod will find himself without an archive, weapons and his team when he movies to Washington. “Even Jenny is nowhere to be seen at first,” he revealed.
Fortunately, the professor will have a team soon. He will find the next witness and a supernatural-fighting partner in Secret Service Agent Diana Thomas (Janina Gavankar). Then, Ichabod will join a secret organization that documents and fights against supernatural forces. This covert organization was created by George Washington and it works within the government.
Soon, Crane will meet Jake (Jerry MacKinnon), a cataloguer of supernatural phenomena and Alex (Rachel Melvin), a self-taught engineering prodigy with a penchant for designing weapons and gadgets. Together, they all help Ichabod in his fight against evil.
4. A New Big Bad
The witnesses will soon meet Season 4’s main villain – Malcolm Dreyfuss (Jeremy Davies), a tech genius and billionaire who uses his wealth for evil. He even tries to resurrect the Headless Horseman so that he can do his bidding. Good luck with that!
5. New Monsters
However, before Diana and Ichabod face-off with the season’s big bad, they will have to fight a slew of monsters. According to Yahoo TV, that includes a coven of Beltway witches, a Revolutionary War-era despair creature, and a demonic John Wilkes Booth. Ichabod will also unearth a mass conspiracy that is unleashing demons into the world, reports TVGuide.
6. Old Characters Resurface
Besides the Headless Horseman, Ichabod and Katrina’s son Henry Parrish (John Noble) will also appear in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4. Details of his resurgence, unfortunately, are being kept under wraps.
7. Abbie Mills Will Be Remembered
Wait a minute, what about Abbie? The fallen lieutenant will be remembered in the Season 4 premiere, but the show must go on. Campbell said, “[But] moving forward is something that people who fight evil have to do. I think we’re presenting an iteration of ‘Sleepy Hollow’ they’ll love and find very familiar.”
8. Crane Still Struggles To Understand The Modern World
Like Abbie, Diana will not believe a word Ichabod says about demons, ghosts and the supernatural world. In fact, don’t expect them to instantly become friends.
Crane will also struggle to understand and adapt to the modern world. Abbie was someone who always helped him adjust to the technology of the 21st century.
“Sleepy Hollow” Season 4 premieres Friday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
