New York police on Saturday made a "wellness check" on "Saturday Night Live" actor Pete Davidson after a social media posting Saturday appeared to suggest he was suicidal.

NYPD officers met with Davidson, according to CNN. Lieutenant Paul Ng did not confirm where or when the wellness check was done.

Davidson, 25, has reportedly battled mental health problems. His Instagram post on Saturday read: "I really don't want to be on this earth anymore." His Instagram account was later deleted.

Pop singer Ariana Grande went to the 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where the NBC sketch-comedy show is taped, out of concern. Grande and Davidson were engaged and had split in October after roughly nine months.

"I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything. I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too," Grande posted on Twitter. The post was later deleted.

NBC has not commented on Davidson's condition but it has been confirmed that he is at the "Saturday Night Live" studio.

It has been a rocky few months for Davidson. After his public breakup with Grande, he made an apology on "Saturday Night Live" in November for making fun of Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who wears an eye patch after an injury he sustained in Afghanistan. Earlier this month, Davidson went public about the pain he feels from bullying over the time he was in a relationship with Grande.

Davidson joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" in 2014. He has also appeared on the Fox sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and the MTV program "Guy Code."

Davidson's father was a New York City firefighter, who died during rescue efforts in the Sept. 11 attacks. Davidson, who was 7 years old at the time, has been public with how he was disturbed by his father's death.
