  • Following a recent deferral, Sony announced the new date of the PS5 digital event
  • In a new blog post, Sony offered some reminders to PS5 fans about the event
  • A tipster claimed that fans might be disappointed because Sony would not reveal the final design of the PS5 at the said event

Sony confirmed a few days ago through an advertisement that the recently postponed PS5 event now has a new date. Expectant fans are excited to witness the much-awaited digital show from Sony. The Japanese gaming console offers a couple of reminders about the PlayStation 5 reveal event that may disappoint some fans.

The first PlayStation 5 digital event is scheduled on June 11, 2020. It will start at 1:00 pm Pacific. In a recent blog, Sony’s Senior Director, SIE Content Communications Sid Shuman, offered several reminders to fans. First, the executive said that the upcoming event is a pre-taped program and would broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second.

Sony chose to do this to ease the production process of the PS5 event considering that a lot of the team members are working from home. The games that would showcase on the show will look much better when gamers play them on the PS5 with a 4K TV, the blog added. There is also a cool audio work in the upcoming show and those who want to watch are encouraged to wear headphones, according to the blog post.

The latest blog post seemingly confirmed that the upcoming PS5 event would showcase some of the titles releasing on Sony’s next generation gaming console. It is somehow aligned with an earlier report from Bloomberg about the possible content of the show. The report also claimed that Sony might not unveil the PS5 hardware at the said event.

Previously, Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb predicted that Sony might officially unveil the PS5 before the first reveal event, but obviously, this is not the case. A recent tweet from Twitter user IronMan also coincides with what Bloomberg earlier reported. According to the tweet, Sony will not show the final design of its upcoming gaming console at the PlayStation 5 event on Thursday.

Sony has not yet revealed what games would launch at the upcoming event. Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan earlier assured fans that titles coming to the PS5 are the best in the industry from various innovative studios all over the world.
