Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Unveiled: Check Out Design, Processor, Battery And Camera Prowess
The Xperia Z3 Compact has got a shining new successor in the form of the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. It is worth noting that, there’s no Xperia Z4 Compact, similar to how Sony skipped the Xperia Z2 Compact altogether. Here are the key features and specifications of the mini device.
Display And Design
According to Sony Mobile, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact features a pocket-friendly 4.6-inch IPS LCD display, aided by 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Sony has utilized the synonymous OmniBalance design philosophy in the Xperia Z5 series as well. Speaking of exterior, the flagship Xperia Z5 features a glass and metal body, whereas the Z5 Compact comes with a plastic chassis, Android Pit reported.
The Japanese tech giant has added a fingerprint scanner this time around, following the footsteps of Apple and Samsung smartphones. However, in the Xperia Z5 series, the fingerprint scanner is not part of the home button, instead, it is apparently located on the right side of the handset. Phone Arena, meanwhile, said that the scanner has good sensitivity and therefore, there is a high rate of success in the authentication department. To top it off, the phone is IP 68/ IP 65 certified, guaranteeing water- and dust-resistance.
Under The Hood
The mini device comes powered by a 64-bit, octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 810) processor and backed by 2 GB of RAM. In addition, Adreno 430 GPU takes care of the graphics side of things. In any case, Sony confirmed earlier that the infamous Snapdragon 810 housed in the Z5 series will not overheat. On the software end, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS runs the show.
Sony is lavish when it comes to providing internal memory space. Hence, there is a solid 32 GB storage capacity, in addition to a microSD card slot for further expansion.
Camera And Battery
Sony has introduced an improved 23-megapixel rear-facing camera unit in the Xperia Z5 Compact, whereas the predecessor Xperia Z3 came with a 21-megapixel unit. This camera bundle apparently consists of Sony’s own 1/2.3'' Exmor RS sensor, along with support for 4K video recording, various zoom options and a LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. The software end of the camera app has also been improved. As a result, users will be able to use SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode that helps in video stabilization, according to Sony Mobile.
Speaking of battery, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact houses a 2,700 mAh unit. Sony also guarantees up to 2 days of battery life after a full-recharge.
