'In The Soop' Drops Poster Featuring BTS' V And Wooga Squad; Fans React
A teaser poster for the highly anticipated reality show "In the SOPP: Friendcation" starring the Wooga Squad is now out, and supporters of the famous Korean celebrity friends just can't contain their excitement.
The poster was released Wednesday, and it features BTS' V, Choi Woo-shik, Park Hyung-sik, Park Seo-joon and rapper Peakboy lounging comfortably next to each other. It teases the exciting trip the five friends are going to embark on beginning July 22, which will be shown on South Korea's JTBC network and on Disney+.
The series will have a total of four episodes, with a new one coming out every Friday. It will show the celebrities preparing meals, catching up with each other and playing their favorite sports while in the forest.
"In the Soop: Friendcation" is a spin-off of music label HYBE's reality program of the same title, which featured BTS and later, SEVENTEEN. The Korean word "soop" means forest, and the original series showed the boy bands enjoying nature and fulfilling outdoor missions prepared by the crew.
Viewers from Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore will be able to stream the series on Disney+ shortly after its release in South Korea. Unfortunately, its worldwide release date remains unknown.
Fans of the Wooga Squad have been actively posting about the show since the poster was unveiled. "Can't wait for a lot of taehyung getting babied content with wooga squad," one of them tweeted.
"Wooga Squad Friendcation! raise your hand if you can't wait for a fun journey," another supported wrote.
Meanwhile, a fan appealed to Disney+ to make its streaming services available in their country so they could watch the reality show. "@disneyplus can you please make disney+ available in Nigeria?? We also want to have access to dramas and shows on your platform," they noted.
The Wooga Squad was formed after Seo-joon struck a friendship with V and Hyung-sik while working on the set of the 2016 drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth." Seo-joon then introduced his new friends to his longtime friends Peakboy and Woo-shik. The squad supports each other's projects while documenting their interesting friendship on social media.
Most recently, V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, performed a cut from the official soundtrack of the drama "Our Beloved Summer" starring Woo-Shik.
