Stefán Karl Stefánsson Net Worth: Amid Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, How Much Money Actor Earned
“LazyTown” actor Stefán Karl Stefánsson is in the final stages of cancer, the Iceland Monitor reported June 30. During his time on the small screen, the Robbie Rotten actor earned millions for portraying his beloved character.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Stefánsson’s wealth is $2 million. He played Robbie Rotten on the Icelandic TV show for 10 years, from 2004 to 2014.

He founded the Rainbow Children, an organization that aims to stop school bullying. He also served as the director.
Stefánsson, 42, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2016. His wife, Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir, took to Facebook in June to give an update on her husband’s condition. “Stefán has bile-duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma), a rare and little-researched disease. It is advanced to stage four, and therefore his life expectancy is significantly reduced,” she wrote June 21.
“Telling our children that their father would never be an old man, and our time together was limited was unbearable. To take away their hope that their dad would get better. Children’s trust is never gained if you lie to them, even when it seems impossible,” Þorsteinsdótti continued. “It’s been a relief to them they know that nothing is hidden from them. If anyone believes it’s impossible to have a meaningful conversation about life and death to a child, he is missing many things.”
When Stefánsson was diagnosed last year, “LazyTown” lead writer Mark Valenti started a campaign to raise money for the star since he was too ill to work. There was a goal of $100,000, but the campaign superseded its goal, raising over $135,000, the Icelandic Monitor posted.
A different fundraiser, created on Change.org, asked for a statue of the actor to be placed in Stefánsson’s hometown of Hafnarfjörður, Iceland.
“Stefán Karl is such a wonderful human being, he has helped children (and even adults, too.) All over the world, and made even more children happy. (Just like young 2004 me) He has even been raising awareness for bullying. This man does not deserve what he is going through,” the creator, Adem A. of Glasgow, wrote. “If you support this, Please share this wherever you can!”
He added: “Mr. Stefánsson, in the unlikely chance you ever get to the read this, I would personally like to thank you for the incredible impact you've had on my childhood and present life.”
Please help this go down in history,” the petition finished. Stefán was, is, and always will be, No. 1.”
By Tuesday, the petition amassed 65,000 supporters.
