Stephen Beatty, Transgender Son Of Warren Beatty And Annette Benning, Shoots Trans Rights Video [VIDEO]
Stephen Ira Beatty, the 20-year-old transgender son of Warren Beatty and Annette Benning, shot a video on transgender issues but omitted mentioning his famous parents in the WeHappyTrans.com clip.
Stephen Ira Beatty was born as Kathlyn Beatty, the daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Benning.
The video is part of WeHappyTrans.com's 7 Questions Project, where transgender individuals talk about their role models, how their life has changed and who was most supportive in their transition.
When Stephen Ira Beatty answered that last question, he noticeably did so without referencing Warren Beatty or Annette Benning.
Instead, Stephen Ira Beatty answered my friends, my peers, who I'm lucky to have relationships with ... ever since high school, when I came out and transitioned socially when I was 14 or so.
The 20-year-old transgender man introduces himself in the video, which can be viewed below, simply as Stephen.
I identify as a trans-man, a f---- queen, a homosexual, a queer, a nerd, fighter, writer, an artist and a guy who needs a haircut, Stephen says into the camera.
Stephen is undergoing hormone therapy to complete his transition as a man, but called it a privilege to show his feminine side, saying he wears a lot of ribbons.
It's nice to finally be able to have my identity be legible to people and I really am enjoying and appreciating that.
Stephen said his style icons include Truman Capote and any male-identified person who wears thigh-highs and garters.
