Stevie J. has penned a tribute to his estranged wife Faith Evans on Mother's Day, declaring his love and asking for a second chance to "rebuild their trust."
The "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star issued a public apology to Evans, 48, via a post on Instagram Sunday over the way he treated her when they were together.
"Faith Rene Jordan, I've hurt you, disrespected you and humiliated you in front of the world," he wrote alongside a photo of him and Evans standing next to an SUV.
He continued, "From this day forward, I promise to listen to your feelings and be more delicate with your heart. I also promise to build you up even more and to communicate daily with you, respect you and love on you until you’re as happy as you were when we got married."
The Grammy-winning producer, 50, went on to say that he's learned his lesson and wants to reconcile with her.
"I've learned my lesson, and I NEVER want to live without you because God knows I'm a better man with you, and I'm asking you to find it in your heart to forgive me and allow me to rebuild our trust," he wrote. "Happy Mothers Day. I love you."
Stevie filed for divorce from Evans in the Los Angeles Superior Court in November 2021 after three years of marriage.
The two have been separated since May 29, 2020, a court document obtained by People in December 2021 stated.
Around the time of their separation, Evans was arrested on domestic violence charges. She allegedly attacked Stevie, with unnamed sources telling TMZ that they noticed visible marks and scratches on his face.
Two weeks later, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said the case against Evans was dropped after her husband declined to testify against her, TMZ reported.
In her response to Stevie's divorce filing, Evans asked the courts to deny her estranged husband's request for spousal support amid their ongoing divorce.
The "I'll Be Missing You" singer also requested to keep her assets from before and since the marriage, including "all property acquired prior to marriage, by gift, inheritance, or devise and after date of separation," People reported.
Evans and Stevie have children from previous relationships but did not have any together.
