‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: Kara And Mon-El Are Stuck On Slaver’s Moon In Episode 9 Sneak Peek
How will Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Mon-El (Chris Wood) get out of Slaver’s Moon?
In a sneak peek for next week’s Season 2, episode 9 of “Supergirl,” Kara and Mon-El find themselves transported to an unknown planet called Slaver’s Moon. As seen in the 30-second clip, the Girl of Steel arrives on the planet first, while the Daxamite shows up just in time to save the Kryptonian from a Maaldorian who’s about to fire his gun at her.
After knocking out the reptilian-looking alien, Mon-El notices that Kara is bleeding. Kara then points out that Slaver’s Moon is under a red sun, so both of them are stripped of their powers. Krypton and Daxam have a red sun, and under their native sun, Kryptonians and Daxamites are only as strong, fast and durable as humans of Earth and possess no superpowers.
When Mon-El realizes that they should get out of the planet as soon as possible, the portal that appears to connect Slaver’s Moon to Earth suddenly disappears, leaving them trapped in the planet for an indefinite period of time.
It seems, however, that the pair won’t be stuck in Slaver’s Moon for a long time. The extended trailer and a few promo photos for the episode show that Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) eventually make it to the Slaver’s Moon to rescue the duo.
The synopsis for the episode reveals that Kara and Mon-El are transported to Slaver’s Moon while looking for a missing woman named Izzy (Harley Quinn Smith). Kara starts tracking Izzy’s whereabouts after she’s moved by her story. Although Snapper (Ian Gomez) orders her to ignore Izzy’s case, the budding journalist still decides to investigate her disappearance. Kara takes Mon-El with her to the last place Izzy was seen, and the duo finds themselves thrust through a portal to Slaver’s Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves.
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 9, titled “Supergirl Lives,” airs on Monday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
