The CW’s “Supernatural” returned Thursday with an episode that that saw Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) escape a highly secure federal prison in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The brothers brokered a deal with Billie, the Grim Reaper, to make them die and come back to life in order to escape jail.

Billie, in turn, brokered a deal for this favor. She would permanently claim the soul of a Winchester at midnight. True to her word, Billie appeared when the clock struck 12. However, their mother Mary (Samantha Smith) was willing to sacrifice herself in order to save her sons. In the end, Castiel/Cas (Misha Collins) used his angel blade to kill Billie because he felt that the world needs the Winchesters. Every last one of them.

What will happen next week on “Supernatural”?

A Castiel-centric episode will be seen next week on The CW series. A person named Lily Sunder (Alicia Witt) has been perfecting her black magic skills for over a century. She wants to use this magic to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family. Guess who was a part of that group of angels? Castiel. Which means, Lily Sunder wants to kill Cas.

The promo of Season 12, episode 10, suitably titled “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” shows Castiel informing the hunters that the angels he served with are being killed. We also see glimpses of Lily Sunder’s life in the 19th century.

Billie did warn the hunters, Castiel and Mary that if they did not follow through on their deal, it would have consequences on a cosmic scale. Perhaps this is the one of consequences she talking about?

Nevertheless, the upcoming episode will also provide details of the angel’s past.
