The longest non-stop passenger flight touched down in Australia Sunday morning after more than 19 hours in the air, a milestone journey from New York that Qantas hopes to parlay into commercial success.Qantas flight QF7879 took 19 hours and 16 minutes to fly direct from New York to Sydney in the first of three "ultra long-haul" journeys planned by the airline this year.The national flag carrier is operating the test flights -- which also include one from London to Sydney -- as it weighs a rollout of regular services on marathon routes from the United States and Britain to Australia.

“When we landed in Sydney, the air hostess opened the doors to the police. Three police came in and took the two men off the plane,” a co-passenger said.

Australian TV presenter Darren McMullen posted the video on his Instagram account showing the two passengers joining the Mile High Club.

The 26-year-old was reportedly disruptive and abusive toward the staff on the plane, which was due to leave Sydney on Saturday. 

The incident took place Monday after false alarms of a fire erupting in the baggage section of Air China Boeing 777.

A Qantas Airlines flight from Adelaide to Canberra was diverted and made an emergency landing in Melbourne after passengers heard a "loud bang" and the cabin pressure decreased.

"There was a struggle for the phone and then she was pushed up against the galley ... with his full body weight on top of her,” Laura Norton, the victim's colleague said.

Co-passengers were angry at the man's behavior that led to the 17-hour non-stop flight's delay.

The man was supposed to catch a 9.30 am flight to Adelaide but arrived at the airport several hours late.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency said there were no fatalities or injuries so far.
