ABC’s summer series “Take Two” is on vacation this week. The crime-dramedy, which stars Rachel Bilson (Sam) and Eddie Cibrian (Eddie), won’t be airing a new episode Thursday night (Aug. 23), but it will return next Thursday with two new episodes.

This delay’s due to the network airing a two-part series, titled “The Story of The Royals,” about the British royal family. The documentary will focus on the addition of Meghan Markle to the family, as well as the new royal baby. Part One aired Wednesday night, and Part Two premieres tonight from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. EDT, with the last hour of it being the usual broadcast time for “Take Two.”

When Season 1 of the show continues next week, it’ll kick off with episode 10, called “Stillwater,” at 9 p.m. EDT. In it, “Sam and Eddie travel to California’s wine country to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a wheelchair-bound woman,” the synopsis shares. The duo was hired by the woman’s son and soon discover that this is far from a normal case when he reveals it was an “otherworldly abduction.”

Sam being Sam, she’s excited this case is a bizarre one, but she and Eddie both know that there must be a more realistic explanation for what’s happened to the woman. As their investigation continues, they find things that even they can’t really explain. After viewers are done enjoying this otherworldly episode, written by Dan Fesman and directed by Rob Lieberman, they’ll be treated to yet another new case.

In episode 11, titled “Family Ties,” which airs at 10 p.m. EDT, Detective Christine Rollins (Aliyah O’Brien) seeks the help of Eddie and Sam when her brother finds himself in trouble. When Christine “receives a frantic phone call from her younger brother asking for help, she assumes he’s gotten himself into some kind of legal trouble again,” the synopsis explains, “but when he doesn’t show up to meet her, she fears the worst.”

She doesn’t want the LAPD involved, which is why she turns to her to Eddie and Sam to help find him. Unfortunately, the investigation leads to a surveillance video showing her brother stealing a car, and Christine worries he’s back to his old, delinquent ways. “Meanwhile, Sam is dealing with family drama of her own,” the synopsis reveals.

Find out what’s really going down with Christine and Sam’s respective families when the episode, which was written by Debra J. Fisher and Mo Masi and directed by Alexandra LaRoche, airs next Thursday, Aug. 30, right after the first new episode.
