Heather Rae Young has revealed that she and her fiancé Tarek El Moussa scrapped the entire plan for their wedding and completely started over in recent months.
On Monday, the "Selling Sunset" star, 33, shared an update on their nuptials, just over a year after she and El Moussa, 39, got engaged. According to her, they went as far as sending out invitations to their guests before they sent out another set with "just kidding" written on them.
Along with a black-and-white snap of herself and El Moussa, Young told her followers on Instagram that she'd "spent the whole day wedding planning and it just made me so excited for our special day."
"I haven’t fully shared this but in the beginning, Tarek and I hired a wedding planner, sent out our save the dates, and then after rethinking some things we decided to completely change everything," she shared.
Young explained that her fiancé saw how stressed she had become while planning their wedding, so they decided to change direction and "hired a new" wedding planner. They also booked a new wedding venue and sent out new save the dates that read, "just kidding."
Despite the hiccups, Young remains positive that they will get their dream wedding, sharing, "I'm a biggg (sic) believer that everything works out the way it should, and after seeing so much of our vision come together today, we couldn't be happier."
While she and the "Flip or Flop" star are planning "a big celebration with our closest friends and family," Young said they also want their nuptials "to feel really intimate and be about our love and our marriage."
Young stressed that they do not take their wedding "lightly" because it is a "big day" for them and their family, adding that they are both ready to tie the knot.
"All I can say is that I’m so lucky to have someone who’s on the same page as me and I think we’re both just ready for the day to finally come," the real estate agent concluded.
Last month, Young shared on Instagram a throwback photo from El Moussa's proposal to commemorate one year of being engaged.
"One year ago today I made the best decision of my life by saying yes to spending forever with the most special man," she wrote in the caption.
El Moussa and Young did not announce their new wedding date. However, before they made changes to their plans, the HGTV star shared that they planned to hold their big day when the restrictions brought about by the pandemic ease.
"With the coronavirus going on, it's really important to us that we have a proper wedding so whenever we get back to normal, we will be getting married," El Moussa told E! News last year. "We're expecting it to be less than a year."
