Taylor Armstrong 'Devastated' as Co-stars Express Grief Over Russell Armstrong Death
Taylor Armstrong, who stars in the American reality series "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", is in dire straits after her ex-husband Russell Armstrong, 47, was found hanged in a bedroom on Monday evening at a house in Los Angeles.
The shocking news comes as the second season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is set to premiere on Sept. 5, 2011. In addition, Armstrong's death came as their own personal turmoil was expected to be a key storyline in the second season of "Real Housewives".
Taylor Armstrong filed for divorce from Russell Armstrong in July and he moved out. His roommate found him hanging on Monday night, according to police reports.
As of August 16, 2011, Bravo decided to wait 24 hours to decide the fate of the show after the death of Russell Armstrong.
A statement released by Taylor Armstrong's publicist said she was "devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter (Kennedy)."
There were several rumors citing the reasons for Armstrong's death. A section of the rumors say the stress caused by the reality show may have played a role in his death.
Russell and Taylor Armstrong had been featured on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and their relationship woes were documented on the show.
"All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news," a Bravo spokesperson said. "Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time."
In addition, Russell Armstrong's lawyer Ronald Richards told TMZ that his client had serious financial problems and was distraught over the breakup of his marriage.
Russell Armstrong was also hit in July by a $1.5 million breach of contract lawsuit, and had huge debt problems, his lawyer said.
