The drama between Taylor Swift, Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records has a long history.

The latest installment of this feud started Thursday on Twitter, when Swift tweeted an emotional plea to the two businessmen with the caption “don’t know what else to do”.

The pop-star claimed that Braun and Borchetta are holding her music hostage so she won’t be able to perform her old songs at the American Music Awards or allow it in her upcoming Netflix documentary.

“I’ve been planning to perform a medley of my hits throughout the decade on the [AMAs]. Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television,” Swift said in her post. “…They claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to next year.”

Borchetta responded to Swift’s claims by releasing a statement through the Big Machine Records website titled “As Taylor Swift’s partner for over a decade, we were shocked to see her Tumblr statements yesterday based on false information.”

The label said that they have never told Swift that she couldn’t perform at the AMAs or block her Netflix special. They add that they don’t have a right to stop her from performing live anywhere.

According to the statement, they have been trying to work with Swift to resolve their issues since she left the label.

“However, despite our persistent efforts to find a private and mutually satisfactory solution, Taylor made a unilateral decision last night to enlist her fanbase in a calculated manner that greatly affects the safety of our employees and their families,” the statement reads.

Borchetta then claims that the story Swift told fans isn’t real. He asks to have a “direct and honest conversation.” The label ends the statement by saying “we share a collective goal of giving your fans the entertainment they both want and deserve.”
