After days of teasing fans with videos of a snake on social media, Taylor Swift finally spilled the beans on what it’s all about.

Her latest Instagram posts revealed that her new album will be called “Reputation.” This will be her sixth studio album and the first one after a three-year hiatus. The album will be released on Nov. 10, while the first single from “Reputation” will be released Thursday night.

But why the snake imagery? If fans can recall, Swift was called a “snake” after two scandals rocked her career last year. The first one was her rift with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, according to The Washington Post. The two parted ways amicably, but after Swift admitted that she wrote his hit song “This Is What You Came For,” he became upset and accused her of trying to “bury” him.

Her second feud was with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. West released a song titled “Famous,” in which he talks about having sex with Swift. West said Swift gave him her blessing for him to use her name in the song, but Swift denied it. To prove her wrong, Kardashian later released via Snapchat recordings of Swift discussing the song with West and joking about the lyrics of “Famous.” As a result, netizens turned on Swift, and she was “falsely painted as a liar.”

It seems like Swift is more than ready to address these incidents in her new album. In fact, a source close to the singer told E! News that she’s really excited for her album to drop. “Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months,” the source said. “She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can't wait to share it with her fans.”

This is probably the reason why Swift has stayed out of the limelight over the past few months before making the bold move of deleting her social media history. “She has been entirely focused on that and not much else. She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that’s it,” the source explained.
