Taylor Swift Wants Los Angeles Mansion To Become A Historical Landmark
Taylor Swift wants her $25 million Beverly Hills mansion to be declared as a local historical landmark.
According to the Huffington Post, Swift’s lavish 1934 estate, which is located at 1200 Laurel Lane, was originally owned by legendary Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn. Goldwyn commissioned architect Douglas Honnold to build the mansion that has six bedrooms, five baths, a library, a card room, a theater, a guest suite, an elevator, and a servants’ quarters situated above the garage.
After Goldwyn died, the estate went to his son, Samuel Goldwyn Jr. The estate was listed on the market in 2008 for $24 million. However, nobody purchased it. After Goldwyn Jr. passed away in January 2015, it was once again re-listed at $39 million. In the end, Swift got the property for $25 million, reported the Beverly Hills Courier.
The city’s Cultural Heritage Commission will be the one to make the decision regarding the estate’s landmark status.
Meanwhile, Swift recently teamed up with Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid’s beau, for a new song titled “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever.” The song will be used in the highly-anticipated film “Fifty Shades Darker” starring Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.
Malik recently talked about his collaboration with Swift during a guest appearance on "Elvis Duran and The Morning Show." Malik said that he got good vibes from Swift while they worked together, and it helped that she is best friends with his girlfriend, supermodel Gigi Hadid. “The interesting thing was she’s actually friends with Gi, so she already reached out because Jack had just played her the song anyway, just because we’d done it together and she really liked it…so I asked if she wanted to be on it and she was cool with it,” he said.
“Fifty Shades Darker,” which is directed by James Foley, will be released on Feb. 8, 2017.
