According to police reports, Rogers attacked Evans by “picking her up, throwing her against the wall, bashing her head on the wall, punching her in her head, back, stomach, and legs.”
Once he was arrested, the 27-year-old went on Twitter to discuss it:
'They got me. ... Brunswick Coybty jail i am on my way ... write me ... sorry i got caught,” he posted on Tuesday. He was arrested just two months after Evans filed assault charges against him.
The “Teen Mom 2” star was pregnant at the time of the incident and miscarried the child. The troubled reality star is supposedly in rehab for heroin addiction.
Police picked up Rogers during an unrelated matter after they found an outstanding arrest warrant.
Pender County Sheriff Deputy Chester Ward explained to E! News: “We had responded to a disturbance call but it didn't have anything to do with him.
“He and some other people were there and we will check and run identification to make sure they don't have any outstanding warrants and Mr Rogers did.”
“He just happened to be at the residence. We put him in our holding jail and processed him here and Brunswick County picked him up this morning.”
Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Emily Flax confirmed Rogers is being detained for the four counts of assault on a female, plus two counts on an unborn child.
The other warrant said he “did commit batter on a pregnant woman.”
Evans was thrilled with the news and tweeted: “I'm freeeeeeee!”
