'Teen Mom's' Leah Messer Announces Engagement To Jaylan Mobley After A Year Of Dating

Leah Messer is getting married for the third time after she said "yes" to her boyfriend Jaylan Mobley's proposal.

The "Teen Mom" star took to Instagram Saturday to announce their engagement and share photos from Mobley's romantic beachside proposal in Costa Rica.

Pictures showed Mobley on one knee and Messer covering her face with both hands in surprise. In other snaps, the couple can be seen sharing a kiss, with Messer showing off her massive diamond engagement ring.

"Two souls, one heart. It's official!!" Messer captioned the snaps posted a day after Mobley popped the question.

"The one 4L!! I love you to the ends of the earth!" Mobley commented on his fiancée's post.

The official "Teen Mom" Instagram account congratulated the pair in the comments section, writing: "So so happy for you two!!!! A lifetime of happiness awaits. We can't wait to be a part of it."

The couple was on their anniversary trip to Costa Rica when Mobley asked for Messer's hand in marriage Friday night, according to People.

Mobley popped the question with a 4.7-carat custom ring designed by jeweler Mike Nekta of New York Diamond Jewelry, the outlet reported.

The MTV star and the U.S. Army cyber officer have been dating since August 2021. They first met at an ESPN and Army event one year prior.

"I just wanna continue getting to know each other. I think that with time, we'll see if that's something," Messer told Us Weekly in March of her beau. "For me, I don't think marriage should change anything. I think it has in the past for me. And I've been like, 'What did I do?' I think it's scary. Like, we put a label on it, and it should go one way or the other. And I'm like, 'That scares me a little bit.' It does. It's a huge commitment."

Messer was previously married to Corey Simms in October 2010, but they split a year later. They share 12-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah. In 2012, she married Jeremy Calvert, with whom she shares 9-year-old daughter Adalynn. They were married for three years before they decided to get divorced.

Messer told Us Weekly earlier this year that being less guarded allowed her to get to know Mobley more and trust his intentions. She also admitted that being in the public eye puts a lot of pressure on a relationship. She wanted to know Mobley before introducing him to her children.

"I've been [sic] lying to you if I said we didn't have days where ... things come up, but I think it's how we communicate and listen to each other that makes everything so different from any relationship I've ever been in, in the past. And the kids see that, they see the love," the reality star added.

As Messer and Mobley prepare for their wedding, the mom-of-three isn't sure if she wants to have more kids. She admitted that there were days when she wanted to have a son, but she also didn't want to start all over again in raising a child.

"So it's kind of that fine line of whatever's meant to happen will. I'm perfectly content being a mom to the three daughters I have and making sure that they're successful in life. That's it. ... Whatever's meant to be will," the former cheerleader told Us Weekly in an interview in May.
