'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge' Release Date, Gameplay Features, Trailer And More

Game publisher Dotemu, the same team that introduced "Streets of Rage 4" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game," recently announced a new game, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge."

The upcoming game is inspired by the 90s title "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time." It is a four-player co-op, side-scrolling brawler title developed by Tribute Games. On its official Twitter account, Dotemu announced the game alongside its impressive trailer. Its classic pixelated art style and its new features are enough to flood viewers, especially the Baby Busts and the Xennials.

The trailer of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge" teases familiar friends and foes. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael take on classic villains like Rocksteady, Bebop and the Footclan. In the background, the nostalgic classic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series theme song plays. Apparently, the game has been in development for quite some time.

As of press time, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge" does not have a release date. The recent press release does not say anything about the game's release window. The game's official Steam page only says "Coming Soon." According to Inverse, a PR representative of the game claims that Tribute Games and Dotemu would reveal the release window later.

Based on the latest announcement from the team behind "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge," it will be available on PC and gaming consoles. At this point, it is not clear if the game would launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, or it will also launch on next-gen gaming consoles' PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Most beat 'em up titles are centered on gameplay. However, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge" will also tell new stories with the TMT crew as they battle its arch-nemeses like Shredder, the Foot Clan and Bebop. The devs assured fans that the upcoming title would revisit iconic locations from the series' history. These locations could include the sewers, Dimension X, and of course, New York City.
