‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Set Photos, Videos Reveal Loki And Thor’s Trip To NY; Will Doctor Strange Meet Them?
“Thor: Ragnarok” will not take place entirely in Asgard. New set photos show Thor and Loki on Earth. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston were spotted filming in Brisbane on a set that looks like a New York City street corner.
Hemsworth posted a photo of himself and Hiddleston in front of a newspaper stand. Many of the headlines are all related to Thor (“Has Thor Returned!” and “Villain Loki Spotted” are among them), but it isn’t clear if they actually indicate anything about the film. Both characters ditched their Asgardian clothes for something a little less conspicuous. Thor rocks some casual jeans and a hoodie while Loki keeps it classy in an all-black suit.
Videos from the set reveal a little more. The brothers don’t appear to be fighting — yet. As they talk on a street corner, a couple young women recognize Thor and take a selfie with him. As they’re walking away one girl bumps into Loki and looks a little terrified.
It doesn’t seem like Loki will be calm for long. Another observer (the set attracted quite a crowd) posted a short clip of the god of mischief seemingly casting some sort of spell.
Also, Thor seems to have gotten some new ink. One photo shows Loki R.I.P. tattooed on Thor’s arm.
The most interesting picture is one with a business card that says 117A Bleecker St. That’s the address of Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Considering “Thor: Ragnarok” is set to come out a year after “Doctor Strange,” it’s entirely possible that the two characters could meet. However, Cumberbatch has not been announced as part of the cast nor was he spotted on set.
Also not pictured was Mark Ruffalo, who is confirmed to appear as Hulk in the Marvel movie. He wrapped filming his scenes earlier this month and posted several behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram to celebrate.
“Thor: Ragnarok” hits theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
