Tom Parker, a former member of the British-Irish boy band The Wanted, has a net worth of $8 million. The singer recently revealed he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at 32 years old.

In an interview with OK! magazine, the 32-year-old said that he was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive type of cancer. Although he was told by doctors that it was “terminal,” he said that he is undergoing treatment for the tumor.

Parker began his music career with an audition for “The X Factor” at the age of 16. He passed the audition but did not make it past the first round.

But while the reality competition did not work out, the Bolton, Manchester, England native found success as a member of the boy band The Wanted alongside Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran.

The group was formed in 2009 and released its first album in 2010. The Wanted's single “All Time Low” reached the top spot of the U.K. charts, per Celebrity Net Worth. They followed it up with “Glad You Came” in 2011, dominating music charts in the U.K., Ireland and even the U.S.

The boy band also had its own reality series on the E! network called “The Wanted Life.”

Unfortunately, things did not last and The Wanted disbanded in 2014. Some members pursued individual careers, while others preferred lives away from the spotlight.

After the disbandment, Parker joined the U.K. version of "Celebrity Masterchef," where he reached the semi-finals, in 2015. Later that year, he released a solo single titled "Undiscovered" and went on tour. Parker was cast in the U.K. tour of "Grease" as Danny Zuko in 2017.

On the personal side, Parker has been married to dance teacher Kelsey Hardwick since 2018. They have one daughter and a baby on the way.

Meanwhile, Parker said he remains positive despite his diagnosis. “We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

He also said in an Instagram post on Monday that he is “fighting this” and thanked everyone “fighting alongside” him and his family.

BBC reported that the 32-year-old singer suffered a seizure in July and another attack came six weeks later.
