Tommy Hilfiger Wants To Collaborate With Lizzo

Lizzo’s Lakers game experience earlier this week demonstrated her proud, unabashed and carefree outlook on life -- which has earned the attention of world-renowned fashion icon and designer Tommy Hilfiger.

“She’s a star,” Hilfiger stated with an ear-to-ear grin on his face.

TMZ caught up with Hilfiger after the Autism Speaks event in Los Angeles Wednesday night when the cameraman asked Hilfiger about any upcoming collaborations the designer has planned. “I would like to collab with people who have great fashion sense,” Hilfiger said.

After being asked who was on the top of his list, Hilfiger thought a moment before excitedly proclaiming: “Lizzo!”

In case you missed it, Lizzo was recently spotted at a Lakers game, sporting a short black T-shirt dress with a cut-out area on her backside. The 31-year-old singer, upon hearing her new single “Juice” playing over the loudspeakers, decided to twerk, despite sporting nothing but a black thong beneath the dress.

Hilfiger saw Lizzo’s Lakers look and dance and decided it was “very cool.”

Lizzo expressed how very little she was bothered by the inevitable internet backlash. She spoke with “CBS This Morning” (via People) about how she felt about the backlash, stating, “Be you. Do you. Don’t ever let anybody steal your joy, especially not the internet.”

She expressed how long it took for her to accept her body, but noted how people won’t stop talking about it now.

Lizzo was also invited to dance at the Houston Rockets game following her thong moment, according to the TMZ cameraman. Hilfiger nodded his head with approval, stating, “She’s pretty amazing.”

It isn’t clear when Hilfiger and Lizzo will collaborate and Lizzo hasn’t yet stated anything, but the legendary fashion icon was very enthusiastic.
