Tony Awards 2022: Ariana DeBose Sits On Andrew Garfield's Lap While Singing [Watch]

Ariana DeBose, who hosted the 2022 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, was seen sitting on actor Andrew Garfield's lap, while singing a song.

In the 25 seconds clip shared on Twitter by CBS network, the actress can be seen walking the aisle and singing. She eventually reaches Garfield's seat and touches his face with her finger.

The actress sings, "I am close to you, oh so close to you," and then goes on to sit on his lap, following which Garfield hugs her tightly with both hands.

"I am touching you / there’s not a lot that you can do," the actress continued to sing. CBS network captioned the video, "Act natural, your crush is here. Us:"

Fans took to the comments section to share their reactions.

"How is that not unwanted sexual touching? He is forced to play along and is clearly uncomfortable," one of the fans wrote. "If this was a man doing this to an actress the conversation would be quite different."

Another fan commented, "If I could have been Andrew Garfield for those few seconds, I think I could have died a happy man."

Apart from the comments section, fans also shared their reactions in separate tweets.

A fan shared a screenshot of the moment when DeBose put her finger on Garfield's face.

A Twitter user wrote, "I respect Ariana DeBose for realizing what is the point of hosting an award show if you don’t use that opportunity to sit on Andrew Garfield’s lap."
