'Top Gun 2': Tom Cruise Set Video And Forest Shoot Details Leaked
“Top Gun 2” filming is continuing without any problems.
The cast and crew are reportedly in South Lake Tahoe, and lead actor Tom Cruise was recently spotted there. A leaked video of Cruise, who is reprising his role as Maverick, has surfaced online, and there are some details of the actor filming scenes in a forest.
According to TMZ, Cruise will be at South Lake Tahoe for two weeks. Among the scenes he is filming there is a sequence in which he has to run through the forest. He has also reportedly filmed a scene with dialogues, standing up in the mountains and looking down at the airport below.
The scenes that Cruise is filming currently have been described as “intense.” Cameras have reportedly been suspended between trees to capture the actor running through the forest. Down at the airport, there are many military aircrafts that have landed. There are also some “physically fit” extras who are involved in the project. These extras have some military background.
A leaked video from the production set posted on Tahoe Daily Tribune shows Cruise riding a motorcycle on the airport strip. The sequence should be nostalgic for readers who watched the 1986 “Top Gun” film. The Kawasaki GPz 900 is a familiar bike that was featured in that film.
The motorcycle ride scene was filmed at Lake Tahoe Airport. The other locations where filming has taken place for “Top Gun 2” are San Diego and Nevada.
Details about the plot are currently being kept under wraps. The film is expected to focus on the challenges the pilots face in an era where drone warfare is becoming more common. Maverick will be seen as an instructor, with a new generation of pilots to train.
The only official picture of the film was shared by Cruise on his Instagram page. This picture was taken on the first day of filming.
Val Kilmer is reprising his role as Iceman in the film. Some of the other cast members are Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Miles Teller, Manny Jacinto and Glen Powell. The script was written by Peter Craig and Justin Marks. The film is being directed by Joseph Kosinski, who previously directed Cruise in the 2013 sci-fi movie “Oblivion.”
“Top Gun 2” will be released on June 26, 2020 in the United States.
