The Truth About Justin Theroux’s Reaction To Jennifer Aniston Interview Amid Split
Justin Theroux is not heartbroken over Jennifer Aniston’s InStyle interview in which the “Friends” alum revealed she wasn’t hurt over their break up. The stars, who split at the end of 2017, first announced their mutual separation on Feb. 15, following two years of marriage.
Although the two insisted they were looking forward to continuing their “cherished friendship” in a joint statement, a new article is suggesting Theroux was heartbroken when he learned Aniston spoke about their marriage during her recent interview.
RadarOnline published an article claiming “The Leftovers” actor was caught off guard by his estranged wife’s comments regarding their relationship and was upset the actress didn’t admit to being sad about their break up.
“He was heartbroken by her decision. The two of them do not talk anymore and he thought they had both agreed to not talk about each other or their failed marriage in the press,” a “source” claimed.
The supposed confidante went on to allege that Aniston’s comments could lead to a feud with Theroux in the future. “He is surprised that she chose to kiss-and-tell. But Jen needs to be careful what she says, as Justin has his side of the story too.”
Despite the claims from the so-called source, Gossip Cop revealed the article was completely false. A source close to Theroux told the website the report is “fabricated,” and the 47-year-old has no problem with the comments Aniston made in her interview.
During her September cover story, Aniston never mentioned Theroux by name. The actress, who was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000-2005, actually discussed how her love life has been portrayed in the media.
“It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken,” she explained.
“First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors,” Aniston added.
In the past, Theroux has shared his thoughts about the difficulty that comes with ending a relationship. “It sucks whether you’re breaking up with someone who really likes you or if they’re breaking up with someone and you really love them, it’s the worst,” he told E! News.
“There’s no good side of that coin to be on,” he added.
However, it doesn’t mean the actor is heartbroken over his ex’s interview. Shortly after their split, insiders told the entertainment site Aniston and Theroux have “completely moved on and are not looking back.”
The estranged couple has not filed for divorce since announcing their separation.
