Two-Week-Old Baby Boy Killed After BMW Rams Into Pram On Pavement

In a horrific tragedy, a two-week-old baby boy was killed after a BMW rammed into his pram on a pavement in the UK.

The West Midland Police said the BMW had collided with another car in the Brownhills area before mowing down the pram on Sunday evening, reports The Guardian.

The driver of the car fled the scene but was arrested shortly afterward. He will be questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The baby was being pushed along the pavement in his pram by the family when the accident happened. His family members too suffered serious injuries in the accident. Though the child was rushed to the hospital, "nothing could be done to save him."

Sergeant Mark Crozier, from the collision investigation unit, said: “A baby has tragically died and we’ll be doing all we can to support his family during this deeply devastating time. We’re in the process of speaking to witnesses and establishing the circumstances around this collision. I would ask anyone who was in the area, and has information which can assist our inquiries, to come forward."

“We understand the shock this will have caused but I would ask people not to speculate on what happened.”

Reports say the crash involved a white Ford B-Max and a white BMW 1 Series, which pinned the pram against the wall. The police are now looking to hear from anyone who may have the dashcam footage of the incident.

Last week, a 13-year-old girl in India was decapitated during a road accident. The minor girl, who had stuck her head out of the window of the moving bus, was hit by a truck driving in the opposite direction. The girl was traveling along with her mother and sister in a passenger bus when the accident occurred.

The girl reportedly got unwell during the journey and had stuck her head out of the window to vomit. The child's head was severed from her body after the truck hit it.

Another video showing a toddler falling out of a running car on a busy road too had recently gone viral on social media.

The video shows the kid falling out of a moving vehicle, and escaping unhurt.
